1 pack of frozen lean ground turkey, 1lb
1 tbsp jerk paste seasoning
½ tbsp grated ginger
3 garlic cloves minced
½ tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp dried thyme
½ tsp mustard powder
½ tsp all spice
½ tsp cinnamon powder
2-3 sprigs chopped green onion
1/3 cup red onion chopped
splash of balsamic vinegar
splash of olive oil
1 egg
Serve as is or on a multigrain hamburger bun, open face, or use head lettuce wraps in substitute for buns.
For a little bit of sweetness, top this turkey burger with a grilled pineapple ring. We sliced fine pineapple rings and put them on the grill to lightly caramelize. The beauty of this burger is that it is so flavourful that it is easy to forgo extra condiments that often have processed and high sugar content.
