Frostbite Tips for Seniors and Caregivers

Frostbite is caused when the tissues become frozen as a result of exposure to temperatures below freezing point of the skin. The longer the exposure the more risk of damage, but in very cold weather, especially if the wind is blowing, it may take only a few minutes for frostbite to occur.
